3D PRINTING SKILLS TRAINING

April 27, 2026

3D printing technology has introduced countless new possibilities to the manufacturing world, reshaping the perspective that professionals and hobbyists have toward developing new products and improving existing ones. The pace of 3D printing development is unstoppable; with advancements in technology, production materials, software algorithms, and the implementation of AI, the quality and reliability of additive manufacturing solutions are steadily improving, becoming increasingly competitive with traditional manufacturing. New opportunities in additive technologies emerge almost daily, and it is crucial for the SME sector to keep pace with these rapid changes and stay informed about the possibilities within the 3D printing industry.

The training is designed so that participants adopt fundamental knowledge of 3D technologies, materials, and software preparation through theoretical lectures, while gaining hands-on skills for understanding and executing the entire additive manufacturing process through practical work. This process includes understanding appropriate 3D models, software project preparation (slicing), material selection and handling, as well as all other skills required for high-quality and safe operation with 3D technologies. This training is an excellent opportunity for SME representatives who want to enhance their production results and implement these technologies in their professional challenges.

Participants will conduct practical work in a modern and pleasant environment, using the latest 3D printing devices available at the Industrial Design Laboratory. The instructors have years of experience and are motivated to transfer their knowledge to the SME manufacturing sector.

Education title:  OBUKA O VJEŠTINAMA DIGITALNE PROIZVODNJE - 3D ŠTAMPA

Name of the relevant MontEDIH service: Digital Manufacturing Training: 3D Printing Course

Service Provider: IEC Tehnopolis

Trainer: The expert team of IPC Tehnopolis, with many years of experience in the field of 3D technologies and additive manufacturing – Tihomir Ćuzović, Dušanka Čolaković, Miloš Radojević

Target users: Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that aim to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of digital manufacturing and 3D printing, and to apply these technologies in the development and enhancement of products and production processes.

Course Content:  The training is a five-day intensive program that combines theoretical lectures with hands-on work using modern 3D printing equipment. Participants will gain both basic and advanced knowledge of 3D printing technologies, materials, and software preparation, as well as practical skills for independently carrying out additive manufacturing processes.

The program covers the complete process – from creating and preparing 3D models, through parameter setup and working with different types of 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS), to the analysis and optimization of final products.

During the training, participants will work in a real environment within the Industrial Design Laboratory, using modern equipment and software, with the support of experienced instructors.

Day 1: Introduction to 3D printing and various technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, BMD), and the basics of 3D CAD modeling in Siemens SolidEdge. Participants will learn how to create and prepare models for printing and familiarize themselves with online 3D model resources.

Day 2: Dedicated to FDM technology, including work in slicer software (CURA, Bambu Studio, etc.), parameter adjustment, and printer setup. Participants will engage in hands-on project preparation and initiate the printing process.

Day 3: Focus on SLA technology, software operation, equipment preparation, and execution of the printing process through practical exercises.

Day 4: Covers SLS technology, comparative analysis of different 3D printing methods, independent work by participants, and analysis of printed models.

Day 5: Reserved for group work and project implementation, where participants go through the complete cycle – from initial idea and preparation to the final product manufacturing.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand basic and advanced concepts of 3D printing and additive manufacturing
  • Distinguish between and select appropriate 3D technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS) for specific applications.
  • Create and prepare 3D models for printing.
  • Utilize CAD and slicer software for project preparation.
  • Independently manage 3D printers and materials.
  • Optimize printing parameters for higher quality results.
  • Analyze and improve manufactured products.
  • Apply 3D printing within business and production processes.
