MontEDIH – True Support on the Path to Digital Transformation of Montenegro’s Economy and Institutions
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, as well as public institutions in Montenegro, now have the opportunity to enhance their operations, implement modern digital technologies, and increase their competitiveness – with the support of Montenegro’s first European Digital Innovation Hub (MontEDIH). MontEDIH serves as a key point for companies and institutions seeking to accelerate their digital and green transition through practical, accessible, and free services.
MontEDIH enables companies and institutions to test digital and other innovative solutions before investing their own resources, thereby reducing the risks of business decisions and facilitating modernization. Through specialized training programs and digital skills development, the hub helps organizations strengthen their employees’ competencies and prepare for the demands of a modern, highly competitive business environment. A special segment of support includes consulting on available European and national financial instruments, providing users with guidance and information for potential investments and development projects.
In addition, MontEDIH provides business networking services and connections with the European innovation landscape, including access to the network of Digital Innovation Hubs across the EU. These activities enable companies and institutions to explore new partnerships, access advanced technologies, and participate in international projects that foster growth and innovation.
The MontEDIH consortium brings together key institutions of Montenegro’s innovation and business ecosystem: the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro (as the project coordinator), the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, the Institute of Contemporary Technologies, the Science and Technology Park, the University of Donja Gorica, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre Tehnopolis, the Center for Finance, and ICT Cortex. Together, these partners build comprehensive national support for digital transformation.
Through direct engagement with micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro ensures that MontEDIH services – digital solutions, training, financial advisory, and internationalization programs – reach the widest network of companies in the country. This strong link between the innovation ecosystem and the business community makes MontEDIH particularly effective in transferring digital knowledge and technologies where they are most needed.
As part of the European network of over 150 Digital Innovation Hubs, MontEDIH connects Montenegrin organizations with the European innovation space, opening opportunities for knowledge transfer, technological partnerships, and joint projects. Such international cooperation directly contributes to the growth of Montenegro’s economy and strengthens its competitiveness in the European market.
MontEDIH remains open to all companies, startups, and institutions interested in improving their operations and implementing modern technological solutions. Interested parties can learn more and apply via www.montedih.me, by sending an inquiry to info@montedih.me, or by directly contacting consortium members.
The MontEDIH team is available to all organizations ready to begin or accelerate their digital transformation journey and become part of a modern, digitally empowered economy.
The project is co-funded by the European Union with 50% through the Digital Europe Programme, confirming its importance for the European and regional digital agenda. The Government of Montenegro (Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and Ministry of Public Administration) co-funds 45% of the project value, while consortium partners contribute 5% of the total project costs.
