Target users: Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public institutions interested in developing the digital skills necessary for effective data management and analysis using modern digital tools.
Course Content: Business Intelligence (BI) is a crucial tool in modern business that enables the identification of strategic insights from data and informed decision-making. This educational program is designed to help SMEs and public institutions understand the fundamentals of BI, data analysis tools, and technologies, as well as to acquire skills for their application in daily business operations.
Through theoretical sessions and practical workshops, participants will gain knowledge in: ● Fundamental concepts and architecture of Business Intelligence systems; ● Data visualization principles and the creation of interactive dashboards; ● Analytical levels (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis); ● Basics of data mining (customer segmentation, association analysis, classification); ● Predictive analytics and forecasting of business indicators; ● BI strategy development and data governance within an organization.
Day 1: Introduction to Business Intelligence, its architecture, and primary platforms. Participants will learn about BI system elements (data sources, ETL processes, data warehousing, reporting), review popular BI platforms, and master effective data visualization principles. Includes a practical exercise on mapping data sources using a company case study.
Day 2: Focus on advanced analytical methods. Participants will explore four analytical levels—from descriptive and diagnostic to predictive and prescriptive analysis—and learn data mining basics, including association analysis, clustering, and classification. Practical work includes developing an interactive dashboard and applying data mining techniques to real-world data.
Day 3: Predictive analytics, real-time BI, and BI strategy development. Participants will learn to use moving averages, regression, and time series for forecasting sales, churn, and demand. The session covers identifying early warning signals via real-time dashboards, defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and creating a BI roadmap for their organization.
The program is tailored for beginners and intermediate users, focusing on specific challenges Montenegrin SMEs face when working with data. Through practical examples from various sectors, participants will develop skills to use BI systems for better market analysis, business process optimization, and improvement of strategic, tactical, and operational decision-making.
